The Hardest Thing I’ve Ever Done
They say that the right thing and the hard thing are often the same thing. I actually use this saying to help me determine the motivation behind my decisions. Recently I made a really difficult decision. A decision that took me out of my comfort zone and will change my life forever. It wasn’t an exciting decision like a job change or new house but a scary, heartbreaking decision of letting go. And it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Awhile back our shower started to leak. It was small and hardly noticeable. Only when all 5 of us showered in one day could you see water dripping from…
What To Do When You Feel Burnt Out
Burnout can happen when my job feels monotonous over a period of time. It can also happen when I have taken on too much and find myself overwhelmed. Burnout is frustrating and can be hard to overcome. Here are some ways I have used to recover from burnout. Take a break! If you can (deadlines permitting), take a moment or take a day to regroup. Sometimes when I have been doing the same thing day in and day out it just takes a break to reset my mood. For example, I used to do a job 6 days a week (kids in tow). Our one day off was Sunday when…
Weekly Bible Verse Planner
Over the years I have tried to memorize Bible verses without much success. Recently, I started writing a verse at the top of my planner for the week so I see it several times every day for an entire week. This has really helped me memorize Bible verses as well as keeping me focused on God throughout the day. I created a weekly planner sheet with the Bible verse I am currently memorizing and I plan to put one out every week. If you would like this weeks or upcoming weeks, follow this link (https://mailchi.mp/d51c36f26fbc/wbvp_matt6_34) to subscribe and download (it will be 2 pages). I made these sheets with a…
Giving it to God… Completely
I had been praying off and on for years about a specific area of my life. It was an area that has caused sleepless nights, intense worry, frustration, and recently panic attacks. I decided it was time to get serious. I was going to focus on this area and pray diligently. For weeks, I prayed everyday, very specifically about this situation in my life, surely God would hear my prayer and answer. Every day, I anxiously awaited an answer to my problem. Everyday my situation was unchanged and my worry grew. Today, however, God responded. I opened my Bible to read where I had left off but instead Mark 11:24…

What I’m Currently Loving – Health Routine
I wanted to share the items that I currently use as a part of my health routine. These items I have been using for quite awhile and I love them. They have become staples in my home. I started using collagen because my knees hurt when I would run, go up or down stairs, and stoop. It was getting to the point that I stopped running and cringed at the thought of stairs or getting on the floor. I wasn’t old but I felt like it. I read about how collagen could help with my joints so after a little searching, I found Vital Proteins. I love their original collagen…
Seek Peace, Not Happiness
When I was younger I used to look for all the things that made me happy. That makes complete sense. Think about when you were a child. Things that made you happy were good. Things that caused you pain were bad. We grow up categorizing our experiences as good or bad based on the way it made us feel. We don’t think about this process but as we get older we start to plan our lives using the same process. We seek the things that make us happy. Maybe we seek happiness in our career, marriage, house, children, financial situation, or in our social lives. The problem with this is…
Grove Co | Product Review
Last month I tried Grove Collaborative for the first time. I had seen an advertisement for a glass spray bottle and liked the idea of reusable cleaning tools. I have been overwhelmed lately by the amount of plastic and just trash from packaging from using everyday items. I went to Grove Co to see what they had and I am so glad I did. My order arrived just 2 days after I had placed it. With it came several free gifts which ended up being some of my favorite things. Here is a list of items I ordered along with the free gifts: Eco-friendly toilet paper Carpet refresher Room Spray…
What I’m Reading – February
I am hoping to share what I am reading each month (as long as the book is good). This month I have been reading, “Forgiving What You Can’t Forget” by Lysa Terkeurst. This isn’t one of those books you read for fun. This is a book you read because you are dealing with hurt that needs to be forgiven. Forgiveness is such a complicated concept. In childhood we learn that if someone does something wrong, they need to apologize and the person affected by the wrong needs to forgive. In adulthood however, things are that cut and dry. The wrongs and hurt is bigger, deeper and cause more damage. Some…
